PARKERSBURG SOUTH'S TODD BURNER SIGNS WITH WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN COLLEGE
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - A Parkersburg South Patriot signs to play baseball at the next level. Todd Burner made the commitment to West Virginia Wesleyan College Thursday afternoon. Burner signed at the high school in front of friends and family.
During his senior season he was named first team all-state for class AAA. He recorded 4 home runs and 32 RBI's. He also helped lead the Patriots to a sectional championship this year.
"I've been playing since I was about 4 or 5. Playing tee ball, it just means everything to me. It's been my favorite sport, probably my best sport all through my life.”
Burner explains, “It means everything because not a lot of people get to play at the collegiate level and I get a chance to."
Burner says he chose Wesleyan College for its small campus and one-on-one opportunities in the classroom. He says his time at South flew by, but he thinks being a Bobcat, will be a good fit.
